Breastfeeding Resources

Here are some of breastfeeding resources that are available in our area.

Are You Interested in Becoming a Counselor?

If so, we would like to hear from you! Moms who breastfeed need support and information for their breastfeeding experience to be successful. If you have breastfed for at least six months or more, and would like to help other nursing moms, we can train you to be a volunteer breastfeeding counselor for Nursing Mothers Alliance.

NMA offers a course twice a year to become a certified breastfeeding counselor. This is a great course! This is a classroom-based course, located in the Philadelphia western suburbs. If you live outside this area please check for courses available in your area.

The next course will be Winter/Spring 2008 and is starting shortly, with location to be determined. For more information, you may do one of the following:

The information for the course book is located here.

Lactation Consultants and Pump Rentals

This page contains links to people who can see a mother once she is home from the hospital, as well as places to rent breast pumps.
